Fred loves the Thomas days on the Watercress Line. As well as seeing Thomas and friends in steam (and being pulled by them!), there's lots of other entertainment like magic and face painting, as well as food stalls and great picnicing.

You can travel the line all day on trains pulled by Henry, Daisy the diesel rail car, and other well known engines; they run every 30-40 minutes from 9.35am to 4.30pm. Thomas, Diesel, Dodge and Toad the brake van also provide shorter rides, and Sir Topham Hatt (The Fat Controller) puts in regular appearances.

Ropley Station is the main location, with a large field set aside nearby for parking. There’s also a marquee by the station for buggy parking, picnic storage, baby feeding and nappy changing.

There’s live entertainment from “Mr Wizard”, a bouncy castle/slide in the Ropley picnic area and a miniature railway. Free face painting, transfers, colouring and Thomas & Friends DVD shows are at Alresford Station.

This is a really well run and very enjoyable day out. You’ll want to be there for most of the day!
