A Museum of everyday life in Roman Britain, on the site of a major Roman city that is now an attractive park. Inside are fine mosaics and wall plasters, recreated Roman rooms, hands-on discovery areas, informative videos, and interactive exhibits.

Built by John Scott, for reasons unknown, the Grotto is a series of interconnected chambers extending 67 feet into the chalk hillside, lined with shells, flints and pieces of cloured glass. Visitors should bring a torch as the Grotto is unlit.
