The Civic Theatre is on Fairfield Road in Chelmsford.

Car: The Theatre can only be accessed via Parkway (the ring road). Look for the turning into Rainsford Road, by the Methodist Church and County Hotel. Once on Rainsford Road, the nearest car park to the Theatre is in Coval Lane, second on the right. (Fairfield Road, where the Theatre is, is third on the right). N.B. There are brown tourist signs around Chelmsford directing you to the Theatre.

There is level access from the Fairfield Road pay car park (N.B. which is entered via Coval Lane) to the Theatre. Please note however that parking availability is limited until after 5pm. Alternative pay car parks, Townfield and West End, can be found near Chelmsford Station.

Train: The Theatre is two minutes walk from Chelmsford Station. From the Station, turn right under the railway bridge and walk down Duke Street keeping the bus station on your left. Fairfield Road is the next road on the left.

Bus: The Theatre is located behind the main bus terminus in Chelmsford. Routes 1, 1A, 1B, 3, 3A, 3B, 7, 7A, 11A, 14, 15, 15A, 16, 21, 31, 31A, 31C, 31D, 31X, 32, 36, 36X, 40, 41, 42, 42A, 45, 45A, 46, 46A, 51, 52, 54, 54A, 54C, 56, 56A, 59, 70, 70X, 71, 71A, 71C, 71X, 73, 100, 140, 305, 344, 351, 352, 481, 512, 542, 561, 562, 676 H1, H2, H3, O21, P6, X4 and X30 all stop here or elsewhere near the Theatre.
